Crispy Tempura Prawns

Prawns dipped in a crispy tempura batter with a nice kick of cayenne pepper and sweet paprika. Featuring Chef's Own Pre-Dust and Chef's Own Tempura Batter. These crispy tempura prawns would be a great dish to pass around to all of your guests. 

What You'll Need

1,5 kg Prawns, peeled
5 g Salt
8 g Sweet Paprika
4 g Cayenne Pepper
100 g Chef's Own™ Pre-Dust
400 g Chef's Own™ Tempura Batter
1 litre Cold water


Preparation Step 1– CRISPY TEMPURA
1. Wash & clean the prawns then dry them off. Preheat oil in fryer to 180° C.
Preparation Step 2 – CRISPY TEMPURA
2. Dust the prawns with Chef's Own™ Pre-Dust (Step 1)
Preparation Step 3– CRISPY TEMPURA
3. Dissolve Chef's Own™ Tempura Batter in cold water and season with sweet paprika & cayenne pepper. Allow batter to rest for 10 minutes, dip prawns into the batter. (Step 2)
Preparation Step 4– CRISPY TEMPURA
4. Place individual prawns into hot oil, so they don't stick. Fry for 4-5 minutes at 170°C. Drain off on paper towel and season with a little salt.
