Crunchy Jalapeños filled with Goat Cheese & Dates

Crunchy Jalapeños are a spicy way to start off any meal. Featuring Chef's Own Pre-Dust, Chef's Own Tempura Batter and Chef's Own Cornflake Crumbs. They feature a great combination of flavours, from the spicy jalapeño to the sweet goat cheese and dates.

What You'll Need

30  (whole) Jalapeños 
400 g Goat cream cheese
200 g Dates, dried & seedless
10 g Salt
6 g Black pepper
10 g Thyme, freshly chopped
15 g Honey
30 g Chef's Own™ Pre-Dust 
300 g Chef's Own™ Tempura Batter 
400 ml Water
200 g Chef's Own™ Cornflake Crumbs


Preparation Step 1– CRUNCHY JALAPENO
1. PREPARE THE JALAPEÑOS: Wash the jalapeños & remove seeds. Blend goats cheese, dates, salt, pepper, thyme and honey and stuff the jalapeños with the mixture.

2. Dust the jalapenños with Chef's Own™ Pre-Dust (Step 1)
Preparation Step 3– CRUNCHY JALAPENO
3. Dissolve Chef's Own™ Tempura Batter in cold water. Allow batter to rest for 10 minutes, dip jalapeños into the batter. (Step 2)
Preparation Step 4– CRUNCHY JALAPENO
4. Coat jalapeños with Chef's Own™ Cornflake Crumbs (Step 3)
Preparation Step 5– CRUNCHY JALAPENO
5. Deep fry the jalapeños at 175°C for 4-6 min.
