Bamya Syrian style Okra Stew

Okra cooked in a sauce make with Custom Culinary® Gold Label Chunky Tomato Sauce and seasoned with Custom Culinary® Chef’s Own Shawarma Flavor Marinade.

450 ml Cooking oil for deep frying
800 g Fresh okra, trimmed
120 g White onion, finely chopped
30 g Garlic, minced
80 g Green chilli, chopped
60 g Custom Culinary® Chef’s OwnTM Shawarma Flavor Marinade.
400 g Custom Culinary® Gold Label Chunky Tomato Sauce

Preparation

  1. Heat oil in a frying pan, deep fry the okra for 2-3 minutes, drain and keep aside.
  2. In the same pan, heat 50ml oil, add onions, garlic and chilli. Sauté for 2 minutes.
  3. Add the par fried okra, Custom Culinary® Chef’s OwnTM Shawarma Flavor Marinade. Toss well sauté for 2 minutes. 
  4. Add Custom Culinary® Gold Label Chunky Tomato Sauce to the okra, mix well and cook for 10 minutes in low heat.
  5. Turn off heat and serve with rice or pita bread.
