Spiced Chickpea Curry (Chana Masala)

Chickpea which is cooked and seasoned with Custom Culinary® Chef's Own™ Masala Flavor Spice Mix and Custom Culinary® Gold Label Chunky Tomato Sauce.

45 g Cooking oil
15 g Garlic, chopped
15 g Ginger, chopped
60 g Red onion, Chopped
50 g Custom Culinary® Chef's Own™ Masala Flavor Spice Mix
300 g Custom Culinary® Gold Label Chunky Tomato Sauce
800 g Chickpeas (cooked and tender)
30 g Coriander leaves, chopped

Preparation

  1. Heat up cooking oil, add chopped garlic, ginger and onion, sauté until golden brown. 
  2. Turn down the heat, add Custom Culinary® Chef's Own™ Masala Flavor Spice Mix and mix it well.
  3. Add Custom Culinary® Gold Label Chunky Tomato Sauce, mix well, cook for 5 minutes.
  4. Add the cooked chickpeas and simmer for 10 minutes.
  5. Serve Chana Masala with cooked basmati rice and topped with fresh chopped coriander leaves.

Chef Tips

If dry chickpea is used, soak chickpea in water overnight and boil until tender with some salt.
