Southern BBQ Pizza

In addition to favourite toppings like pulled pork, corn, and a blend of mozzarella, Cheddar and Gouda, the signature flavours of Southern BBQ are amplified by a sweet and smoky flavour glaze brushed across the pizza dough. Topped with crispy, BBQ-seasoned fried leeks and fresh cilantro or parsley.

What You'll Need

Amount Ingredients
1/2 cup Finely Sliced Leeks
  Frying Oil
1/2 cup Custom Culinary® Seasoned Flour
1 tsp Custom Culinary® Kansas City Style BBQ Seasoning
Pizza Dough Crust
2 Tbsp Custom Culinary® Sweet ‘n Smoky BBQ Flavour Glaze
1/2 cup Shredded Pulled Pork
1 Tbsp Grilled Corn Pieces
1 cup Shredded Mozzarella & Cheddar Blend
1/4 cup Smoked Gouda
  Fresh Cilantro or Parsley for Garnish (optional)


  1. Preheat oven to 500°F (260°C). Preheat fryer to 360°F (182°C).​

  2. Toss leeks in Custom Culinary® Seasoned Flour and fry until golden brown, approximately 20 seconds. Drain on paper towel. Season immediately with Custom Culinary® Kansas City Style BBQ Seasoning. Set aside.​

  3. Brush pizza dough with Custom Culinary® Sweet ‘n Smoky BBQ Flavour Glaze, leaving a ¼” gap from the edge for the crust. ​

  4. Cover evenly with pull pork, corn, cheese blend, and Gouda.​

  5. Bake pizza in preheated oven until golden brown and cheese is bubbling, approximately  4-6 minutes. ​

  6. Top with fried leeks, and fresh cilantro or parsley (optional).​​
